The hour-long class will include a warm up, various strength work with barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, etc, and a core and pelvic floor specific cooldown. Whether you are maintaining an active lifestyle during pregnancy, transitioning into postpartum movement, embarking on the journey of menopause, starting your weightlifting journey, or just looking to have some structure to a weekly weightlifting session this class welcomes women of all backgrounds and experience levels.

Strength training plays an important role in our bodies feeling good, however, this class is not a substitute for a physical therapy appointment. If you are looking for specific help addressing aches and pain, pelvic floor physical therapy, and more, book an initial evaluation appointment with Dr. Heather Salzer.

Alex is a physical therapist, Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and Level 2 CrossFit Trainer. He received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University and his Bachelors of Science from the University of Arizona.

Alex has additional training in the areas of men’s health, TMD, spinal manipulation, the fitness athlete, the endurance athlete, and professional bike fitting.

Outside of the clinic, you will find Alex in his local CrossFit box trying to improve his fitness, or on the trails running, hiking, backpacking, and biking with his wife and daughter.

Kasia is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist with a focus on pediatric sports medicine. She brings several years of experience coaching gymnastics and recently expanded to coaching CrossFit. In the clinic, she focuses on injury prevention and performance enhancement for these athletes.

Kasia also has a particular interest in the intricacies of ankle/foot injuries and extensive experience with return to sport after ACL reconstructions. She is dedicated to helping athletes of all ages stay active during their recovery from injury and return to their activities stronger than before.

In her free time, Kasia enjoys CrossFit, mountain biking, parkour, skiing/snowboarding, camping, and loving on her two cats.

Dr. Heather received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University and her Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon. In addition to co-owning and operating Onward Bellingham, Heather is a teaching assistant with the Institute of Clinical Excellence (ICE) pelvic floor division with online and live courses.

Heather’s expertise spans pelvic health, pregnancy/postpartum care, and general orthopedic conditions. She strives to help people feel strong, confident, and pain-free while navigating the challenges of daily life and doing activities they love.

Fitness and movement are a huge part of Heather’s life. Outside of the clinic you can find her coaching and working out at her local CrossFit box or spending time in the outdoors hiking, camping, or running with her husband and new daughter!
